About the Role:

Currently Technica is seeking motivated and experienced individuals to join our growing team as a Licensed Instrumentation Technician to work for our clients in Northern Ontario. There are currently 2 open positions that we are actively looking to fill. As an Instrumentation & Control Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of production by installing/replacing and calibrating quality instrumentation. Your experience and skills will contribute to scheduled or emergency repairs, installation and inspection of work to be done in the shop or field. The key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Ability to work on new installations, troubleshoot and repairs as required
  • Ability to work with all instruments and meters
  • Inspects equipment & repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work
  • Identifies additional repairs, compiles parts and labor estimates and communicates to supervisor
  • Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance
  • Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, parts listings and submit drawing revisions.
  • Routine testing and calibrating of critical instrument systems and associated equipment
  • Modify PLC programs
  • Expected to provide recommendations on machine safety, optimization, and cost reduction
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Trade Certification: Possess an Instrumentation and Control Technician (447A) Red seal accreditation or a College Technician or Technology Diploma in Instrumentation.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of trade experience (apprenticeship included).
  • Active member in good standing with Skilled Trades Ontario
  • Working knowledge and skills in underground construction and maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and wiring schematics to determine specifications and calculate requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
  • Clean Criminal Record Check
  • Must be willing to travel to Dubreuilville, Ontario for work
