About the Position:
Currently, Technica is seeking a self-motivated and qualified individual to join our growing team as a Jumbo Operator - Development Miner. There is 1 open position available to aid our long term, local development projects in Sudbury, Ontario. We are actively seeking to fill these positions to support the continued success of our operations.

The key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Preparing faces, drill load, blast drift/ramp rounds and services
  • Participating in other facets of underground development, as required, which includes LHD operation, mechanized bolting, service advance and other underground activities
  • Assisting with other support duties such as mechanical installations; maintenance of air, water and ventilation; and ground support,
  • Performing pre-operational inspections and ensuring safe operation of manual bolting equipment such as jacklegs/stoppers,
  • Inspecting existing underground headings and scaling loose rocks while working according to work procedures and company policies within a safety conscious environment,
  • Inspecting work headings and construction for compliance to code, regulations, and standards and reporting any deficiencies or unsafe conditions

Qualifications

  • Must have Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (U0000, U0001, U0002, U0003, U0004, U0005, U0006, U0010, & U0012) or equivalent provincial designation,
  • Following Specialty module is required:
    • U0089 – Operate Mechanized Jumbo Drill
  • Following Specialty modules are considered an asset:
    • U0018 – Operate Mechanized Rock Bolter
    • U0068 A or B – Perform Trackless Haulage
    • U0091 – Operate Haul Truck
  • Experience with Epiroc Jumbo’s and MacLean Bolters and Cat Scoops is preferred
  • Previous experience using a jackleg and stoper considered an asset,
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years underground development experience
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment,
  • Must be open to working at any of the underground mine sites that Technica operates at
